I think the ones who came out fine came out towards the begining of the FAYZ. When the wall would have been stronger, and maybe was able to transfer them to the other side of the wall safley or something.

The Gaiaphage was stronger when the wall was created, as in saying that, the girls would've been perfectly fine...

The Mary and Francis event though, was much later when the Gaiaphage was weakened, causing them to not be able to exit the wall.. Intact..

Ok thank you that makes alot more sense! I read through the book really fast, which I do with any book I'm excited to read, so I'm gonna go back and reread it soon! Im on Plague right now I started reading the series over again.

But if the wall was weaker, why wouldn't it be easier for them to get through safely?

Also, I thought there were more people that took the poof besides the twins, Mary, and Francis. What happened to them? Or am i just mistaken? It's been a long time since I read the first book, I don't remember everything.

not really, because the gaiaphage is the wall if hes weaker its going to be harder to transfee them to the wall in one piece...

Yeh i think it was andrew and benno but they had powers so we do not know, sincethey both had powers it makes us wonder if they had a different result when taking the poof

I thought the reason they were...messed up after the poof was because the GP did something to them and the twins were fine because it happened to them in the first few days so GP didn't have his whole stop time and lure them in plan in place.

When Emma and Anna went through the poof, they were the first. The first ones were off the hook. As conditions worsened, more odd 'mutations' there were. This is what I've pondered at time and time again . . .

Mary and Francis willingly poofed though. They knew they would be tempted by the Gaiaphage and went anyways. The others did not. They genuinely thought it was their mom/dad/etc.

^True...maybe the longer you resist the poof, the more mutated you come out?

^Doubt it, i think once you say no to the poof, you can't poof again.. Well at least it's never been mentioned before at least

I think the reason Andrew, Benno and others weren't mentioned is maybe because they had powers? the gaiaphage could be like, idk keeping them prisoner or making the a PART of it or something... Just a theory

i've just finish reading the book recently and i thought it was the other way around. the gaiaphage was NOT as strong, plus it was the beginning of the FAYZ, so the twins wasn't linked to the FAYZ and therefore isn't harmed.
