If the series is ever adapted which movie do you think you would be the most excited for? I really want to see a Lies movie, just because Mary had such a huge importance in it. Oh and Drake is hardly in it so that's a plus. He was still scary then. However Plague would be so controversial I would love to see the media uproar and see all the horrifying deaths. Fear would be a lot like the movie "The Descent" because of the dark and use of fire.

Plague! because mostly I'm interested how they're going to turn a story on bugs that eat you from the inside out and a plague that makes you throw up your lungs be appropriate for 13/14 years old (as i believe is the age for most GONE readers?)

Clearly Gone would make the best movie because it shows how the whole storyline started and their first character developements

Plague is my favourite, but they'd have to start with Gone. It's the start of the epicness!

as a book, fear is my favourite. but for a movie, not so much cause a lot of its set in total darkness. so the best book for a movie would be lies. in my opinion anyway.lies or plague. gone if your not into as much deaths/blood shed

I think that all books would be equally brilliant. GONE, PLAGUE and FEAR would have spectacular fight/battle/attack scenes - imagine the choreography of the Thanksgiving Day Battle or the bugs attacking Perdido Beach. FEAR would be difficult to shoot....since most of it would be in darkness XD

Also if it were a film series, I think there would be 7 movies - LIGHT being split in two because Hollywood likes to make as much money as they can. And instead of calling the last two films LIGHT Part 1 and LIGHT Part 2, they should call the first installment DARKNESS and then the last film LIGHT. Personally I prefer any title with the words 'part one/two' in them, plus it would be cool to incorporate 'DARKNESS' because remember how Michael Grant wanted to call FEAR that but it wouldn't fit on the cover??

Also, if I were in charge of this movie series, I would cast everybody for the first film. That way the characters that are bigger roles in the other books, i.e. Penny or Zil and Lance, would be in the background until they're mains and not just appear suddenly in the films. They'd be in the background, and we could have minor character developments as the series go on.
Like in GONE, Penny might be one of the mutants who gets plastered. And Zil would be sitting at the table at the Thanksgiving Day Feast.

Holy derp, I'm getting into deep.

^ This!

Personally... if we're talking about a situation where all the books were a movie series, then it would just be a question of how well the plot of the individual books could carry over.

An adaption of Hunger would have at least somewhat of an advantage over Gone, because by Hunger we've already met most of the main protagonists/antagonists. Also many of the major characters (such as Jack, Brianna, Dekka, etc) who play large roles in many of the books aren't introduced until near the end of Gone, so we would get to see a whole lot more of them in Hunger than we would in Gone.

I think that Lies would probably not do so well in terms of plot. I don't know if it was just me, but I did find Lies to be somewhat confusing -- after finishing it I spent a good ten minutes pacing my room and muttering about it to myself to try to make sense of it.

Plague and Fear would either need to be toned down a fair bit (in relation to all the gore), or have a strict age rating imposed, which would kind of take the movies out of the targeted age range.

Fear would also be difficult to adapt as a movie due to the fact that a fair amount of the book is spent in darkness.

Light... well, I can't say much about that (yet) seeing how it hasn't been released. I like Nim's idea with the movie adaption being split into 'Darkness' and 'Light', though.

Overall, I think Gone, Hunger, or Plague would probably make the best movies (taking into account plot, characters, and the like).

I think Gone would make the best stand-alone movie of course, since it's the start, other movies would need too much explanation, and also, Gone is so cool. Out of all the books, even, it might make the best movie because you get to see the adults disappear, the initial shock and horror, all the chaos, to meet the characters... fans would love it and those who weren't fans would become so.
However, if it were a series, maybe Plague would make the best one, just 'cause of all the gore that would hopefully get included. If they toned down the series and took out the blood and guts (which would be SO ANNOYING if they did that if they made a movie), then I still think Gone would be the best.

a majority of fear would be in darkness so that would kinda make it less... i dunno... but it wouldnt be as good as the other books that are in light

All of them would be amazing, but I have to go with Plague on this one. or maybe Fear. Imagine what a creative director could do with the scenes where everything is dark?
